Jason Maley, M.D. Advisory Board Member
Dr. Maley is a former ICU physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical Medical School where he was dedicated to improving the quality, safety and effectiveness of critical care through machine learning and biomedical engineering applications. While practicing as an ICU physician, Dr. Maley performed grant-funded work that examined value in the intensive care unit, seeking to understand variation in care, cost, waste and opportunities to improve the care patients receive by eliminating low-value care. Dr. Maley is currently in Senior Director, Clinical Development at Sionna Therapeutics. He is also a lecturer at the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science at MIT.g. Dr. DeJournett first became interested in glucose control in the ICU setting in 2007. After performing an extensive review of the literature in this area, he realized that the control methods in use at that time would not be able to provide safe and effective glucose control as they were not capable of keeping up with the highly dynamic glucose versus time curve seen in ICU patients.
